Viking Runes in Year 6

30th Sep 2024

Year 6 enjoyed learning about Viking Runes in an outdoor lesson in our new outdoor learning space.

The Vikings used letters called runes. They are imitations of the Latin letters used in most of Europe during the Viking era. The Latin letters are the ones we use today.

The Year 6 pupils worked together in pairs to learn how to write their name using Viking Runes as well as write a message to their partner. They then wrote their Viking Runes name on the school yard.
